Your Story on Stage
Other Lives ran Tale Spinner events in 2017 and 2018, but the enormous amount of work involved has meant that we do not have the capacity to run an event in 2019. We shall in due course consider whether we can hold events in the future, so this page will be kept under review.
What did the events involve? Other Lives Productions in conjunction with the East Riding Theatre invited entrants to to spin a tale, fact or fiction. Submissions of original work were invited.
Anyone could enter. Stories had to be between 1,000 and 2,000 words in length, and submitted via a Word document attached to an email, with TALE SPINNER in the subject line to otherlivesproductions@yahoo.co.uk. Required were telephone number, email address, names and contact details to appear at the top of the title page of submissions.
The main aim of the evenings was entertainment, but was a competitive element in that at the end of each evening there was a prize-giving based upon audience votes. The winners of each of the six rounds plus the best two or three runners-up went through to the final.
There was no entry fee for the stories, but the audience were charged and this helped to fund some prizes and pay for venues.
