At a Fund-raiser for Lincoln Cathedral

At a Fund-raiser for Lincoln Cathedral

Other Lives Productions is making a speciality of helping groups to raise money. There are two ways in which this can be financed:

Method One

A group or organisation agrees with us a fee for our services.

For instance, on this basis we have performed in a marquee in Lincolnshire as a fund-raiser for improvements (specifically to the visitors’ toilet block!) at Lincoln Cathedral. For performances beyond the East Riding of Yorkshire we can offer only this option.

Method Two

A group or organisation who wishes to raise money provides us with an acting space (village hall or similar) and publicises for an audience. We bring our light and sound equipment, etc., and put on a show (unless such equipment is already in situ). The money raised is divided between the good cause and Other Lives Productions.

For instance, for the past two years we have performed on behalf of the repair of the church roof at Bishop Burton, East Yorkshire. The profit for the evening was divided between Other Lives and the church roof find.

One suggested pattern is to provide wine and nibbles for an audience of 100 and to charge £10 per ticket for the evening. Of the £1,000 thus raised, half goes to the church roof fund and half to Other Lives Productions. A more modest way is to charge, say, £5 to £7, and offer tea/coffee/biscuits in the interval.
